Deepak Ravindran co-founded Oddbox, alongside his wife, with a serious mission to combat food waste. He has been at the coal face right from the start, leading on all things growth and marketing as well as sitting on the board.

When he’s not working, Deepak finds joy in adventure, whether it’s bouldering or keeping up with his energetic 5-year-old daughter.

In this conversation, we speak with Deepak about what it’s like scaling one of the UK’s most loved mission-driven brands and their quest to combat food waste.

This event is hosted by UCL School of Management to celebrate founders past and present through the school, alongside special founder guests invited from the UK startup ecosystem.

Oddbox is a certified B-Corp, has raised over £20m and has revolutionized the Direct to Conscious Consumer space. They have delivered over 8 million boxes of surplus food to customers nationwide and rescued the equivalent of over 96 million meals – equating to over 40,000 tonnes of fruit and veg.

Deepak will be in conversation with Christina Richardson – Entrepreneurship Fellow at UCL and founder at weare3Sixty. They’ll be exploring:

  • Marketing and successfully scaling a DTC brand

  • Navigating the turbulence of team growth

  • Scaling and changing as a founder and startup leader

  • The highlights and lowlights along the way

  • FounderFuel tips to be resilient for the rollercoaster ride
